Gunfleet Boating Club

February newsletter

Hello to all, hope that you all had a good Christmas and a happy New Year. The summer is nearly upon us so get ready to go and have some fun on the water.

The rubbish in the compound is now cleared, so the next task is for a work party for a spring clean of the club house inside, on the 24th February, so come on down at 10.00am to lend a hand, all you need to do is bring  yourself and some cleaning equipment.

The club has got a new range rover, which is a manual diesel which looks like a police car apart from it has got security written down the side of it.

So the red range rover is going to be chucked away.  So we will have two range rovers running this year. (We hope)

There is a Scampi and quiz night on March 15th starting at 7.00pm so come down and book by putting your name down for a good laugh, the choice are scampi or sausages for the children. So come on down and bring the family.

There is a quiz night at the Flamingo restaurant on the Friday 23rd May it is part of the lifeboat flag week which is running from Friday 23rd May to Sunday 8th June. Go onto www.clactonlifeboat.co.uk for more information about this event. So if you wish to go to the event and have a laugh come down the club and speak to us.

The AGM is going to be on the 1st June so come on down. The New Year is starting from the 1st May the full membership is still at £105 a year and the social at £40 this year keeping the cost down for its members. Do not forget to include copies of insurance for your craft, as you will not launch, No Cover Notes Accepted.

We are in the middle of being accepted to the Community Amateur Sports Club.

So come on down, and see the new season in, whist you laugh at Russell trying to ski, so bring your camcorder as it will be a perfect ‘you been framed’ moment.

The commodore has ordered his new jet ski, so his old ski is up for sale.

WITH COMPLIMENTS
