Gunfleet Boating Club News Letter-
December 2003
…Seasonal
Greetings to you and your kin…
Sorry,
but can I reiterate the following…It has been agreed that, as of 1st
January 2004 a charge for any boat/ trailer combination left in the compound
will incur a charge of £20 for the period up to membership renewal. This charge
will then be reviewed. If you are aware of any boat/ trailer combination left in
the compound by any non-members, please advise them that they have to be removed
ASAP. This will be followed up by an advertisement in the local paper.
The
Bonfire night, I am sure you will agree, went very well. One of the best yet I
have been told. Thanks to Trevor for the towering inferno, Chris and Keith for
the Pyrotechnics, Russell (look out Jamie Oliver) and Steve (Behind the scenes)
Buer for the gastronomic delights. Kath for pouring the amber nectar and to all
the members who supported this event.
The
Chinese night went well, well…apart from the fact that they delivered at
Beijing central time not GMT. Thanks to everybody involved and once again,
thanks to all the members who supported the event.
The
fishing competitions are going very well, thanks to Steve Turner. Not much more
to say on the sporting front at the moment due to the sub Zero temperatures and
artic like conditions; but look on the bright side, the summer is getting
closer.
The
RNLI horse race night seemed to lack a bit of support, not just from our club
but in general. However, I’m sure we can improve on that next year.
Social
events planned for the next couple of months are as follows.
The
Children’s Christmas party will be on 6th December between 4 and
7pm. An entertainer has been booked and the big fat bloke in the red suit with a
white beard will be in attendance. Free photos will be taken of all children
receiving their presents and will be available for the proud parents to take
away with them on the day. (Please limit you children’s presents to £5)
On
the weekend between Christmas and New Year, the club will not be open on Friday
27th or Saturday 28th. However, Sunday 28th
will be business as usual.
New Years eve (Normal date of 31st December, not January as stated on the last news letter). The bar will be open and as usual, all are welcome. A list has been placed on the board so everybody knows what buffet food everybody else is bring so we don’t end up with 20,000 sausage rolls and only 1 cocktail sausage.
Cheers
Jon (Is it summer yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Moss
