Gunfleet Boating Club News Letter-

May 2003

The Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday 20th April went well.  Thanks to Julie for telling the Easter Bunny where to leave all the eggs.

Thanks to Steve Turner and his little helpers for the brickwork to the East end of the clubhouse.

A member’s fun day is planned for sometime during the next bank holiday weekend. Tug-of-war, BBQ etc…etc. Weather and attendance permitting

A fish’n chip/ Quiz night has been planned for 14th June. Please support this event put on by your club. The food, as you know, will be of the usual high standard and I’ve had a word with the celebrity quizmaster, so the questions shouldn’t be as hard as Trevor and Mickey’s burgers (only joking chaps). A list will be on the notice board by the end of the week

Could all members please ensure that the Shogun is washed down after use and if it has any damage or mechanical problems, please inform a member of the committee as soon as possible so any defect can be rectified with the minimal of delay? Also, if you have a bit of petrol left in your cans at the end of the day, don’t let it go stale, top the Shogun up.

Our friends, the R.N.L.I, have informed us that they are having an open weekend on 12th &13th July at the station at the end of the pier. All are welcome. Remember, we always welcome them when we need them.

The members at Clacton Sailing Club are going out to Gunfleet sands on Tuesday 15th July and have invited us all along. (Low tide 19:43 hrs, 0.22meters)
