Gunfleet Boating Club News Letter-

February 2003

And summer is here, well almost. If you were to look out over the tranquil waters at the Gunfleet bay on the first Sunday of this month you would have seen two boats moving majestically over the shimmering mill-pond like two dolphins, elegantly surfacing for air in the Indian Ocean . Or was it Collin Wells and me, who were only out there because we were dropped on our heads as children, have no feeling due to our lack of sense or were only able to endure the arctic like water temperatures due to our obvious over indulgence the night before….Answers on a postcard please! (reminder, must get a wet suit)

A fish’n chip/ quiz is planned for Saturday 22nd March with the culinary delicacies being prepared by Paris trained chefs Russell and Chris. A list is displayed in the clubhouse to enable you to put your names down if you intend to dine. Please come along and support YOUR club.

Questions for the quiz have been complied by a famous television quizmaster who wishes to remain anonymous at this time.

A big thank you Trev, Cod, Steve B, Keith and Russell for getting the compound in to order. (Trevor will be giving rides on his dumper in the summer, 50p or £1 with the Trevor the builder hard-hat option).

Launching news…..The club has now purchased a shogun 4x4 for this season and is ready to go. The dumper should also be ready for the start of the season.

The big news of the month is that everybody in the world can now have an insight in to Gunfleet Boating club. One person alone, STEPHANIE BUER, has facilitated this and I am sure that you will all join me in extending our thanks to her for the effort that she has put in. The web site can be viewed at www.gunfleetboatingclub.co.uk. (If you received this letter via e-mail, just click on the above).
