Just To Let You Know-

I haven’t got any dates for your diary this time (except for the fishing times below). Its just I had to send out a form for you to fill in for the fitting out dinner on the 28^th of March. I thought I would let you know what was going on down at the club house at this moment in time.

With the summer rapidly approaching it has been decided to forge ahead with all the modifications and get the club house up to scratch before things get too busy. The first thing that is being done is all the old interior lights are being taken out and replaced with new recessed light units, even the old wall lights are being spruced up and new up-lighting units fitted.

When finished we intend to get plastered (the walls that is) and replace the coving throughout, no surface will be spared even the kitchenette will be getting a quick touch up (sounds good). On completion the painters are moving in and painting every thing that doesn’t move.

The new carpet has been chosen and we were lucky enough to get hold of the same hard wearing carpet that we had before, we just hope that it will last as long as the old one did (over 20 years).

It’s not just the inside of the club that is being refurbished, the winch house outside is being rebuilt in brick and one of the old doorways (in the children’s room) is being bricked up.

A new five bar gate has been ordered for the club entrance and when it arrives it will be hung so that it opens the opposite direction to the way it does now, hopefully this will cure two problems.

1. It won’t close on you as you drive through.
2. Any signs hung on it will be able to be read more easily.

Also the lease has been finally sorted and there is a list of the new trustee’s on the notice board.
